After much research over the last few months I decided to purchase the Osprey Porter 30L. Choosing the right travel luggage to suit me and my travel style was an important decision. Here are a few reasons which helped me decide that the Osprey 30L was the best option.
- Suitcase style opening. – I really wanted a backpack that unzipped allowing full packing access not a half open style.
- Separate laptop compartment
- Organisational pockets
- Suitable size to fit on my 5’2″ frame
- Hidden away straps
- Fits within the carry on limitations for all the airlines I am currently booked with
Last weekend I got to test the backpack out for the first time. I travelled (drove) interstate and packed for a 5 day trip. The expected weather was between 14℃ and 32℃.
- 5 pairs of socks
- 5 pairs of undies
- 5 singlet tops
- 5 leggings
- 3 skirts
- Sleeping wear
- 1 pair of runners
- 1 pair of thongs
- Toiletry bags (makeup/tooth care)
- 1 lightweight zip up jacket
My aim was to pack whatever I thought that I might want. Mostly so that I would have a selection of outfits to wear across the days without having to rely on repeating clothing choices. I didn’t want to put any more restrictions on myself for this test besides what limitations the bag itself would place on me. Everything that I pulled out with the intention of packing, fit nicely in. There weren’t any items which I had to leave behind.
I’m pretty happy with my first travel experience using the Osprey Porter 30L and would recommend to someone with similar criteria to myself for travel luggage.
